Five suitcases stand as silent sentinels in the landscape, each an echo of a woman, a generation, a journey.
Next to each suitcase, a pair of shoes—from the small steps of childhood to the stillness of old age—bear witness to footsteps through time.
From the suitcases, a piece of fabric drifts softly, a trace of presence without a face.
What remains is what she leaves behind: baggage of memories, stories folded into the fabric, imprints in the earth.
A label with words flutters in the wind, like a whisper from the past.
A QR code reveals five portraits—five backs of women in transit.
The installation breathes movement: coming and going, staying and vanishing.
It is an ode to the invisible woman, who is everywhere and always was.
Near the old station of Hoedekenskerke—where trains and ferries once crossed paths—her presence lingers, in a journey that never ends.
