Playground series / De Speeltuin
The deserted playgrounds were spotted in Mongolia and Russia. The paintings evoke the desolation of a ghost town. The transparent method of painting accentuates the dreamlike stillness of the images and uncovers memories of childhood joys and sorrows.

DE SPEELTUIN
The Playground series were made during my residency at Kaus Australis, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I curated, within the framework of id11, an exhibition with work in various disciplines from artists who share the same fascination for deserted playgrounds. The project DE SPEELTUIN was exhibited at art-space 38CC in Delft, the Netherlands.
