Delft Murals

In Delft, the Netherlands, on the walls of houses and apartment buildings slated for demolition, I made collages- and painted in acrylics, portraits of women from the neighbourhood seen from behind. TERUGBLIK was part of the op_LOCATIE project in 2010-, Remain was part of the FLAT_land project in 2009- and Transient and Family were part of HET TIJDELIJK VERBLIJF project in 2008 of art initiative id11.

Voorbijgaand is my contribution to the Delfts Blauwe panden (Delft Blue houses) near the railway zone in Delft, houses slated for demolition. To make room for a newly built railway tunnel. I made photos of women waiting for the bus or train at station Delft and transferred them into blue tinted acrylics on the doors of the houses.
